Saturday, September 11th, 10:30 a.m. Walk Through History with Abraham Woodhull. In this living history walk you will meet farmer and Revolutionary War Spy Chief Abraham Woodhull, portrayed by historian Beverly Tyler, who leads tour goers on a walk through the nature sanctuary that was once Woodhull's farm. Tour goers are introduced to the woods, fields, ponds and bays that tell the story of Long Island's colonization and settlement preceding the Revolution and the creation of the new nation. Walk lasts 2 1/2 hours and commences at the Caroline Church Carriage Shed (opposite the Setauket Village Green.) Fee: $5.00 per person/ $3 per person for TVHS Members.

Sunday, September 19th: 21st Annual Long Island Apple Festival. Sherwood-Jayne House, East Setauket, NY. Co-Sponsored by: TVHS, SPLIA and Homestead Arts. Sunday, September 19th, 2:00 p.m., Village Green Walking Tour. Discover Setauket's rich history as you explore its architecture and beautiful natural environment. This tour of the Setauket Village Green area takes 75-90 minutes. Tour starts at the Setauket Neighborhood House, 95 Main St., Setauket, NY 11733. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start time to ensure a prompt start. Fee: $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

Monday, September 20th, 7:00 p.m. Monthly Lecture Series: John Broven will present "Record Makers and Breakers" a history of the roots of rock and roll. Meeting takes place at the Setauket Neighborhood House, 95 Main St, Setauket, NY. 7:00 p.m. - reception, 7:30 Members Meeting, 7:45-9:00 p.m. Speaker. The Monthly Lecture series is free and open to the public.

Saturday, October 2nd, 10:30 a.m.: Spies Along the Setauket Village Green, a walking tour led by Eric Waxman.This special tour will feature information about the Culper Spy Ring in celebration of the opening the following day of our new exhibit, SPIES! How A Group of Long Island Patriots Helped George Washington Win the Revolution. The 90-minute tour starts at the Setauket Neighborhood House, 95 Main St., Setauket, NY 11733. Please arrive 5 minutes early, to ensure a prompt start. Fee: $5.00 per person/ $3 per person for TVHS Members.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.: Grand Opening of SPIES! How A Group of Long Island Patriots Helped George Washington Win the Revolution, a new exhibit for children and adults at the Three Village Historical Society, 93 North Country Road, Setauket, NY. Colorful wall panels and interactive computer software tell the fascinating story of General Washington's most successful and best organized spy ring. Interactive computer games allow visitors to assume the persona of one or more of the spies and retrace their activities. "School of Spies" provides hands-on activities for children to write spy letters using authentic spy codes and quill pens with "invisible ink". This exhibit is supported in part by a matching grant from the New York Council for the Humanities. Admission this day only: free. After Oct. 3rd admission will be $5.00 adults, $3 for children and TVHS members.

Monday, October 4th, Pastries and Patriots: The American Revolution on Long Island and in New York, sponsored by the Three Village Historical Society with Stony Brook University Library and the Center for Global and Local History, Stony Brook University. Be privileged to hear two lectures by noted historians, and enjoy a delicious breakfast, on the campus of Stony Brook University: Edward G. Lengel, Associate Professor of History, University of Virginia and a Senior Editor 0f The Papers of George Washington Project, will present his lecture: George Washington, Unconventional Soldier. Edwin G. Burrows, Professor of History, Brooklyn College, and a Pulitzer Prize-winning co-author of Gotham: A History of New York City to 1898, will present his lecture, The Prisoners of War of Occupied New York City, 1776-1783. Sunday, October 17th, 2:00 p.m.: Down the Ways Maritime Tour: this tour with historian Beverly Tyler explores the history of shipbuilding in Setauket. Tour lasts 2 hours and commences at the Setauket Dock, Shore Rd., E. Setauket. This tour will be conducted at low tide so that the bones of the schooners will be uncovered in Scott's Cove. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start time listed to ensure a prompt start. Fee: $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

32nd Annual Candlelight House Tour - Friday December 3rd and Saturday December 4th. For thirty one years, the Three Village Historical Society has presented its Candlelight House Tour, a spectacular showcase of select local homes decked out in dazzling holiday finery by talented local decorators. The 2009 Candlelight House Tour will take place on Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th. The tour will feature grand homes replete with stunning architectural features, and customized interior design for the holidays.

All tickets to TVHS sponsored events are non-refundable.
